The war of words between two of Alaska’s best-known families, the Palins and the Johnstons, is heating up again.

Following in the barefoot steps of her brother, Levi Johnston, who last year posed for Playgirl, Mercede Johnston, 19, goes nude in a four-page pictorial in the September issue of Playboy (on newsstands Friday), and slams the entire Palin family in the accompanying Q&A.

Mercede calls her brother’s ex-fiancée Bristol Palin a “sociopath,” and claims Sarah Palin used Levi as a pawn during the 2008 presidential campaign.

“She literally took Levi from a hunting trip and flew him to the Republican convention,” Johnston says of the former vice presidential candidate. “He didn’t have a choice. She doesn’t care, as long as she’s going to the top. But it’s screwed my whole family up. Levi was a prop, and once they didn’t need him he was out the door.”

Bashes Bristol

As for Bristol, Johnston says the former Dancing with the Stars contestant underwent “numerous” plastic surgeries and liposuction procedures both before and after giving birth to her and Levi’s son, Tripp.

Johnston also addresses Bristol’s pregnancy, which was revealed after her mother joined John McCain’s campaign in 2008.

“Bristol’s pregnancy wasn’t unexpected,” Johnston alleges. “She and Levi planned it. They were trying to conceive for months.”

Engagement Never Real

According to Johnston, Bristol and Levi’s on-again, off-again engagement was entirely fabricated to prevent Levi from speaking out against the Palins.

“[The Palins] only wanted them back together so they could control Levi, have him say he lied so no one would believe what he said and no one would believe Levi again,” she says. “Everyone who knows Levi knows everything he said was true and then some.”

A rep for the Palin family did not immediately return a request for comment on Johnston’s various allegations.
