Leonardo DiCaprio would love to get married someday – but has no immediate plans to walk down the aisle, he told PEOPLE at Sunday’s Manhattan premiere of his new spy thriller, Body of Lies.

In a widely quoted interview last week, the Oscar-nominated actor – who since 2005 has been dating Israeli model Bar Refaeli off and on – said he wanted to get married and have children, sparking a slew of media reports saying he’s ready to settle down and start a family.

Clarifying his remarks, DiCaprio, 33, tells PEOPLE, “It’s silly. I was asked whether I believe in the foundation of marriage, and I said, ‘Of course I do.’ I think it’s a great thing. I absolutely believe in it and I will, but I have no announcements.”

Bottom line: “There’s no new news, is what I keep saying.”
