Leonardo DiCaprio and director Michael Mann are developing a movie based on a book about Howard Hughes, says the Hollywood Reporter. “Howard Hughes: The Untold Story” covers more than 60 years of the eccentric billionaire’s life, from his forays into aviation (several accidents failed to deter him from hopping back into the pilot’s seat) to his virtual seclusion in the Las Vegas hotel he bought (rather than check out of). For at least two decades — in the ’70s and ’80s — Warren Beatty was consumed with the idea of producing and playing the lead in a film biography of Hughes. That project never got off the ground.
