Here are just a few reasons you are familiar with Dr. Luke without even knowing it: He Got His Start on Saturday Night Live Dr. Luke (born Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald) got a job as the lead guitarist in the NBC show’s house band in 1997. During the 10 seasons he performed on the show, Dr. Luke began making a name for himself as a DJ in his native New York City. He Has Worked with Stars Including Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Britney Spears Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” Pink’s “Who Knew,” Spears’s “Hold It Against Me,” Miley Cyrus‘s “Party in the U.S.A.” and Avril Lavigne‘s “Boyfriend” are just a few of the songs that Dr. Luke has had a hand in making chart-topping hits. Kesha Wants Dr. Luke ‘Out of Her Life Once and For All’ He Has Employed Both Kesha and Katy Perry Dr. Luke owns two publishing companies: Kasz Money Publishing for his own songs and Prescription Songs, which has included artists like Kesha, Perry and Benny Blanco on its roster.
