LeAnn Rimes to Undergo Surgery for Leg Injury

The singer, suffering from a leg infection, cancels three tour dates

A leg infection that will require surgery has forced LeAnn Rimes to cancel three concerts this week, her publicist says.

The Grammy-winning singer, 23, suffered a “tear in the tissue” of one of her legs and is scheduled for an operation Tuesday in Los Angeles, according to a statement from her rep, Diana Baron.

“It’s a minor surgery,” Baron says in the statement, “but because of the infection it was urgent that she takes care of it right away.”

Rimes, who is currently on her “This Woman” tour promoting her album of the same name, canceled a performance that had been scheduled for Thursday in Hampton Beach, N.H., and Friday and Saturday concerts in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.

She is expected to play the remaining tour dates after a three- to four-day recovery.
