Lauren Scruggs reached a recovery milestone on Saturday. After losing her left eye and hand following a plane propeller accident Dec. 3, the fashion blogger was fitted for a prosthetic eye with her family by her side.

“She was fitted and measured. The ocularist carefully painted and shaped the new eye,” Cheryl Scruggs wrote on her daughter’s Caring Bridge website Thursday.

It was an “all day process,” adds Cheryl, and “by 5 p.m., it was done, and her new eye was in place. It is beautiful. Thank you God for providing.”

Lauren, 23, who runs the fashion blog LOLO (her nickname is “Lo”) may soon be getting a prosthetic arm as well. “We again met with the arm people this week,” her mother added. “Again, another step. bittersweet……

Lauren was seen out in public for the first time since her accident last month. And while she appears to be making great progress, her mother says she’s now dealing with a different type of recovery.

“Lo’s physical pain has subsided a great deal. It is now the emotional pain that is the tough one,” writes Cheryl. “Please continue to pray. Your prayers are so appreciated … More than you know.”
