Lauren Conrad Slams Magazine for 'Basic' Diss on Twitter
The Hills star hasn't lost her sassy spirit
Someone clearly hasn’t seen The Hills.
As on-screen frenemies Heidi Montag and Kristin Cavallari know, you don’t mess with LC – a lesson Allure learned the hard way when Lauren Conrad called out the magazine on Twitter for labeling her “basic.”
Conrad – the beauty mag’s April cover girl – took issue with a feature in the August issue. Titled “Beauty & the Beat,” the article looks at celebrities who have specifically “typecast” styles. And the Paper Crown designer didn’t find her blurb to be so flattering.
“Made famous by Kreayshawn and viral by YouTube, the Basic woman is remarkably unremarkable. What’s noteworthy about her style is its very plainness. Except to her. She swears those red soled shoes are cutting-edge,” the story reads. And her hairstyle? “Blowout or sausage curls.”
Conrad, 28, fired back Monday.
“I definitely just got called a basic b*tch!” she Tweeted. “Haha! Sausage curls!? Really @Allure_magazine?”
One thing’s for sure: Don’t expect the bride-to-be to ask her salon for “sausage curls” on her big day.
