Former first lady Laura Bush and he daughter Jenna Bush Hager have inked a deal with HarperCollins to release a children’s book titled Our Great Big Backyard, PEOPLE has learned.

“To help commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the National Park Service, the authors create a heartwarming tribute to our national parks and the importance of connecting with nature,” HarperCollins says in a statement to PEOPLE.

The story of Our Great Big Backyard follows Jane who planned to spend her summer playing video games with friends, but is unpleasantly surprised when her parents announce that they’re taking a road trip to visit national parks around the country.

Jane is disappointed at first, but as the trip moves along, she realizes the beauty in nature and she begins enjoying her trip.

“Somewhere between the Everglades and Big Bend National Park, things begin to change,” the statement reads. “Jane starts paying attention to the majestic sights and spending less time looking at her screen. And the more she discovers, the more she learns how much there is to love about the outdoors.”

The book – illustrated by Jacqueline Rogers – is set to be published in May of next year, with a portion of the authors’ advance going to the National Park Foundation.
