Princess Diana’s former secretary has resigned from her memorial fund, Britain’s Press Association revealed. The departure of Jackie Allen, 35, severs the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund’s final link with the hand-picked team who worked with the princess at Kensington Palace before her death in August 1997. Allen’s resignation from the fund-raising department comes just weeks after Diana’s butler Paul Burrell, who worked alongside her, lost his job with the organization. “Her last day at the office will be February 15. We are very sad to be losing her,” a memorial fund spokeswoman said, adding, “We cannot explain Jackie’s own personal reasoning for resigning.” Allen had accused the fund of failing to support Burrell when he lost his job as its events and fund-raising manager in December. At the time Allen admitted fearing that her future with the organization may be in doubt.
