Amazon Music is preparing to unveil its new playlist, “Indie for the Holidays,” featuring a mix of holiday standards and originals from left-of-the-dial artists like Guided By Voices’ Robert Pollard and Langhorne Slim.

And Amazon Music was kind enough to let us premiere Slim’s version of the Christmas classic “Deck the Halls.” The Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter says of his version: “Christmas music is often so wholesome. I wanted to find something delivered from a different perspective – I wanted to sing something that’d make an old lady dance. I love you, Bing Crosby, but this Christmas, I’m listening to Little Jimmy Thomas.”

Indie for the Holidays will be available exclusively for streaming on Amazon Prime Music and purchase on Amazon Music on November 20. Slim is embarking on a month-long tour starting in the new year – find out when he’ll be in your area here.
