After grabbing the spotlight on Dancing with the Stars Lance Bass has a few words about another celebrity returning to the stage – Britney Spears.

“This is going to be the biggest comeback of all time,” he told PEOPLE Monday during a party in his honor at New York’s Citrine.

“I don’t think she needs any advice from me,” added Bass, 29. “She’s doing an amazing job right now and I’m so proud of her.”

Spears released her sixth studio album, Circus, on Tuesday – which was also her 27th birthday – and celebrated with a performance on Good Morning America. Spears is also going back on the road with a 27-city North American tour that will kick off in March.

Bass also offered congratulations to his former bandmate (and Spears’s onetime boyfriend) Justin Timberlake, whose romance with Jessica Biel is going strong.

“They’re just really great people,” he gushed. “She’s just one of the guys when it comes to him, and that something that he really loves, a girl that can just hang and get along with all his friends.”

As for Bass, don’t look for him on the dance floor again anytime soon.

“I’m lucky that I don’t have to dance the samba anymore,” he said laughing. “But it’s definitely opened my eyes to a lot of new things and different styles of music, which is really cool. I can say I can danced those different styles, which is something I never thought I’d be able to do.”
