Lance Bass and Michael Turchin Set a Date

The couple will get married this December

Who needs a June wedding? Break out the winter whites, because Lance Bass and his fiancé, actor and model Michael Turchin, have settled on a wedding date – and it’s happening soon!

Though some speculated they would wed next year, the couple are now set to officially tie the knot on Dec. 20, Bass’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The former ‘NSYNC band member, 35, first proposed to Turchin last September, posting a photo on Instagram of Turchin showing off the ring with the caption, “He said YES!! Love this man.”

“I’ve gone through some bombs for sure, but I know this is the one,” Bass told PEOPLE at an event the following June. “I could not be happier.”

After the engagement, the couple put the actual planning of the wedding on the back burner, until Bass started freaking out about it. “I called Michael last night and said, ‘Babe, we have to plan something.’ I’m tired of telling everyone we haven’t done anything yet!” he told PEOPLE.

Last month, Bass, who now works as a radio show host and LGBT rights activist, proposed to Turchin for a second time, giving him yet another ring on the anniversary of their one-year engagement.

“Who gets proposed to a second time on the first anniversary of the first proposal?? This guy!!” Turchin posted to Instagram, along with a photo of his new ring, a gold and black diamond stunner.

So, will his former ‘NSYNC bandmates be invited to the wedding – and more importantly, will they sing? Don’t hold your breath, says Bass.

“Yes, there will be a reunion,” Bass told PEOPLE. “But I doubt we’ll be performing. I think it’s a little cheesy if I sing at all at my wedding.”

E! is airing a 90-minute wedding special featuring the happy couple’s nuptials in early 2015.
