Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney on Their Future Together: 'They Want It to Work,' Says Source
"They are taking a break," Gaga's rep tells PEOPLE
“They are taking a break,” Gaga’s rep tells PEOPLE.
An industry source previously told PEOPLE that the couple’s work obligations “kept them apart a lot” as they don’t see their busy schedules slowing down any time soon.
“She’s working on an album, he’s working on his show, they aren’t in the same state, it was just hard,” another source shares with PEOPLE. “They both love each other very much and they want it to work. It’s just been tough with the long distance.”
Kinney, 35, has been filming his NBC drama Chicago Fire at the titular location since 2012. He and Gaga, 30, met on the set of her “You and I” music video in July 2011, and began dating later that year.
Then after about four years of dating, the actor proposed marriage on Valentine’s Day 2015 at the singer’s family’s Manhattan restaurant Joanne’s Trattoria.
PEOPLE confirmed the longtime couple split earlier this month.
On Tuesday, Gaga was spotted in Malibu, California following her recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where she was spotted without her heart-shaped Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.
