Lady Gaga for President? Well, not quite – though the “Poker Face” chanteuse has overtaken Barack Obama to become the most popular living person on Facebook – and the first to attract more than 10 million friends.

All told, as of 9 a.m. Tuesday Eastern Time, Gaga has 10,996,842 Facebook friends, compared to former champ Barack Obama’s 9,967,630.

Not that this places Gaga (real name: Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta), 24, at the top of the heap. The five other subjects topping her on the Facebook are (in order of ranking): Texas Hold ‘Em Poker, Michael Jackson, Mafia Wars, Facebook and Family Guy.

Even so, “Lady Gaga has seen her fan base across Facebook more than double this year and is currently the fastest growing star,” Daniel Dearlove, of the social media statistics Web site Famecount, tells the BBC. “Achieving 10 million fans is a remarkable testament both to her stardom and to Facebook’s extraordinary reach.”

As for other Famecount faves, the most popular actor turns out to be Ashton Kutcher; favorite sports team, the L.A. Lakers; movie, Twilight; and athlete, Shaquille O’Neal.
