More than three decades later, he’s still her favorite leading man.

Longtime couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell had a sweet date night Monday, attending the world premiere of his new movie, the Quentin Tarantino-directed The Hateful Eight, in Los Angeles.

And the Oscar-winning actress, 70, couldn’t help but rave about the evening, taking to Twitter to gush about the movie – and her significant other.

“I loved the movie #HatefulEight and kurt is still my heartthrob!” she tweeted.

The two were all smiles – Hawn looking elegant in a black slip top accessorized with black pearls, Russell keeping it casual in a relaxed blazer with jeans and a blue button-down – as they posed for shutterbugs.

The couple recently fired up wedding rumors after Hawn was spotted wearing a sparkler on her ring finger, but Russell swiftly squelched the speculation.

“I was just talking to Goldie last night, I said, ‘I should really have fun things to say. I have none,’ ” Russell told Extra Monday, laughing off the rumors. “They trot that one out every four or five years, now that we’re 400 years old … No, unfortunately, for those that need to hear yes, I do not have good news.”

One thing that they are gearing up for? The holidays.

Russell, who has been with Hawn since 1983, revealed that as part of the family’s annual Christmas tradition, they gather for a reading of A Visit from St. Nicholas, with a different person spearheading the charge every year.

“On Christmas Eve, we always have somebody who is there – one of the family members reads The Night Before Christmas,” he told PEOPLE at The Hateful Eight premiere, adding with a laugh: “And sometime soon after that, Santa Claus has a tendency to show up, so the little ones start getting nervous.”

So who’s doing the honors this year with reading the poem?

“I don’t know who it will be this year,” he says. “We change it all the time. At some point we start of thinking about it and go, ‘Who hasn’t done this yet?’ or ‘Who hasn’t done this for a long time?’ I think I know who it’s going to be this year. It’s going to be Oliver’s wife,” he says, referring to Erinn, wife of Goldie’s son, Oliver Hudson. “That’s going to be my pick. It’s going to be Oliver’s wife, Erinn.”

With a family like this filled with thespians, including daughter Kate Hudson, expect lots of stirring in the house – mouse and all.
