Kordale and Kaleb Lewis achieved fame about a year ago when they uploaded a picture of their morning routine with their daughters to Instagram.

The Atlanta, Georgia, couple’s picture garnered a lot of comments, to put it mildly. Many were encouraging, many were not. In the intervening time, Kordale wrote a book, and the two have since gotten engaged and remain active in the LGBTQ community.

This week, they became part of Nikon’s new “I Am Generation Image” ad campaign, starring in a two-minute video that focuses on their family. (Kordale and Kaleb have two daughters and a son between the ages of 6 and 8.)

“We just want people to know that, hey, we’re normal. And you can’t judge people on their normal – you really can’t,” Kordale says at the beginning of the video. “It was a simple innocent picture,” Kaleb adds of the famous snap. “I’m still amazed.”
