She’s been open about her less-than-active love life over the last decade as she’s struggled publicly with her weight. Now Kirstie Alley is spending some quality time with a new – much younger – guy.
The 59-year-old star of the A&E reality show Kirstie Alley’s Big Life has grown close with Nick Boshier, 28, an Australian comedian and writer. The pair were introduced by a mutual friend more than a year ago, and Boshier began working as an intern for Alley’s production company a few weeks ago.
“They’ve been spending a lot of time together. They’re very affectionate and comfortable with each other,” says a source close to the actress. “He’s a funny guy, she’s a funny lady. They share a sense of humor. There’s a lot of laughter there.”
The hunky Boshier was the actor behind a mullet-sporting Australian YouTube sensation called Trent from Punchy in 2008.
Those in Alley’s inner circle were surprised at how quickly the Aussie gained the actress’s trust – and then some: “She’s more comfortable with him than with most people,” says the source. “She’s been in a very good mood lately.”
Whether or not the relationship develops into a May-December romance or not, Alley is in a good place these days, says the source, “She’s losing weight and feeling great.”
