Inside Kim Kardashian's Low-Profile Life: 'She Loves Waking Up with Her Kids'

Since being robbed of more than $10 million worth of jewelry during Paris Fashion Week, an insider told PEOPLE that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has a "more positive" outlook

In the wake of Kim Kardashian West being gagged, bound, held at gunpoint and robbed of more than $10 million worth of jewelry during Paris Fashion Week, the reality star is choosing to live a relatively low profile life and retreat at home with her family.

Since the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star returned to the U.S. on Oct. 3 hours after her Paris apartment was invaded by five masked men, a source tells PEOPLE that the mother of two has changed the pace of her daily routine — and is spending a large majority of her time with her children: North 3, and Saint, 10 months.

“The only ‘positive’ thing about the robbery is that Kim changed pace. Instead of working nonstop, her life has slowed down significantly. She seems happy about this,” the source says of 36-year-old Kardashian West.

“She very much likes spending every day with her kids. Many times in the past, it was very hard for her to be way from her kids for work,” the source adds of the KUWTK star, who is dedicating her time to her young daughter and son. “Now she gets to wake up with her kids and go to sleep with her kids.”

Although the Kimoji creator has continued to withdraw from both posting on social media and making any special event appearances since the life-threatening robbery, sources confirm he has gradually resumed filming her reality show over the past few weeks and made a pair of rare couple appearances earlier this week, including supporting her husband Kanye West at his concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

In the three weeks since the robbery, Kardashian West’s “outlook on life” has changed, another source recently told PEOPLE.

“She is still figuring out her life. She still has no plans for any work appearances, but her outlook on life seems more positive,” the insider said, adding that Kardashian West “has calmed down a lot since the robbery.”
