Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick‘s relationship may be over (for now), but that doesn’t mean the reality star’s famous family isn’t supporting him.

Kim Kardashian West tells PEOPLE that she’s happy that Disick is working on his alcohol abuse issues in rehab in Cliffside Malibu.

“We love Scott, and we’re so happy he’s getting help,” she says in PEOPLE’s newest issue. “When we do see him, he’s back to his old self.”

Since the summer breakup, Kourtney appears to be thriving and focusing on the couple’s three children: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 11 months.

“It had been the same cycle with those two, the same issues, for 10 years,” Kim says. “Kourtney finally stood up for herself. She really has taken that stand.”

The 36-year-old split from Disick after he was spotted cozying up to stylist Chloe Bartoli in Monte Carlo, France, in July.

“I admire how she’s wanted to just make the right decisions,” Kim says of her older sister. “I love to see her journey. It’s a hard one right now, but it’s bettering the family.”

While a source told PEOPLE that Kourtney and Disick’s relationship may be on the mend, Kim says “I don’t want to say anything too soon.”

“But we’ll always be there, and we hope for the best.”
