The world's most talked about couple celebrate the night before their wedding with a bash and private tour
But Kardashian, 33, and West, 36, are never a couple to disappoint. Extravagant details have begun emerging about the duo’s nearly week-long Parisian celebration and Saturday wedding at Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy.
After Friday’s brunch at designer Valentino Garavani’s 17th-century château, the rehearsal dinner and private tour of Versailles that followed just a few hours later was the icing on the Kardashian cake.
Six hundred guests, including the Kardashian clan, family friends Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck, music bigwigs like Rick Rubin and Guy Oseary, personal trainers Gunnar Peterson and Harley Pasternak, and Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz (who dressed Kardashian for her Vogue cover and the Met Gala), began arriving at the famed chateau at 7 p.m. Friday evening via a convoy of 90 vehicles.
Once they passed through one checkpoint, they were driven uphill across a cobblestone courtyard to a second gilded gate where plumed horses and riders stood at attention.
Hundreds of fans who’d been waiting for hours broke away from behind barricades as the groom (wearing a beige suit with satin lapels) arrived at a side gate in a Porsche, and began surrounding cars and banging on car windows shouting “Johnny Depp!” and “Beyoncé!”
By 7:45 p.m., most of the guests had arrived, including the bride, who wore a white gown with a plunging neckline. The evening included a performance by Lana Del Rey and a seven-minute fireworks show.
Earlier this week a statement was released by the couple and officials at the Louis XIV estate. “Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have decided to let their guests discover the Château of Versailles during a private surprise tour on Friday, May 23, the eve of their wedding,” it read. “In making this choice, they are contributing to a better understanding and maintaining the exceptional heritage of the castle of Versailles, which is classed a World Heritage site UNESCO.”
