Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Feel Like 'Better People' and Stronger in Their Marriage Out of the Spotlight
A source tells PEOPLE both stars "dealt with individual issues that affected the family dynamic" — and ultimately "made them both stronger"
Almost six months after her horrific Paris heist, Kim Kardashian West is back in the public eye — albeit on a much smaller scale. Now, a source tells PEOPLE that scaling back their time in the spotlight has not only helped the star move on but has also strengthened her marriage to Kanye West.
“The past few months were very trying for both Kim and Kanye,” a source tells PEOPLE of the couple, who endured a period of marital strain sparked by the Paris robbery last October, followed swiftly by West’s hospitalized for exhaustion in November.
“They dealt with individual issues that affected the family dynamic,” says the source. “In the end, it seems it has made them both stronger.”
The source adds that Kardashian West, 36, and West, 39, both “had revelations and realized changes needed to be made” — and indeed, Kardashian West went on to take a three-month hiatus from the public eye and social media.
Now, they’re “much more low-key and not in the spotlight like before,” continues the insider. “They both feel like they are better people and that it has changed their family for the better. They don’t have any desire to go back to how things were.”

The source also says the couple “seem much happier than they did a few months ago” and the fact that West has slowed down professionally — and refrained from any public outbursts or headline-making Twitter rants — “has really helped.”
“Like most marriages, they have issues, but there has been no divorce talk,” says the source. “Lately, Kanye has really showed that he wants Kim to be happy. Her happiness is very important to him.”

“Kanye is around much more and helps out with the kids,” says the insider. “They’re enjoying date nights. It’s much more of a normal life. They realized that they don’t need crazy work schedules to be happy.”
“Kim and Kanye are better than ever,” adds a separate source. “What doesn’t break you makes you stronger. The whole family is stronger.”
