Hair in a towel + diamond ring = a tribute to her idol

Kim Kardashian‘s admiration for Elizabeth Taylor continues.

The reality star, who has long been obsessed with the late Hollywood legend, posted a tribute to La Liz on Instagram late Monday – posing with a towel in her hair and showing off a diamond ring in front of a photo of Taylor in the same pose from the ’60s.

“#MyIdol,” Kardashian, 33, wrote in the simple caption to the picture, which is an homage to a photo taken of Taylor by her lifelong pal, the actor and photographer Roddy McDowall.

As it happens, Taylor gave her final interview to Kardashian for Harper’s Bazaar shortly before her death in 2011 at age 79. Her final two Tweets linked to the interview and complimented Kardashian for her Cleopatra-themed photo spread.

“You look like a princess in Egyptian robes, love!” she wrote.

Among other topics in that interview, the two discussed jewelry, including the 33.19-carat Krupp diamond, a gift from husband Richard Burton.

“The Krupp is an extraordinary stone,” Taylor said. “It has such life and brilliance when light shines through it. Size does matter [in diamond rings], but so does the size of the emotion behind it.”
