Monday was an extra busy day for the engaged couple, who checked locations and fashion houses
On Monday morning Paris seemed to be more romantic than ever, as engaged couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made their way around various high-end boutiques and designer ateliers in the City of Light.
The couple – who plan to wed in Paris on May 24 – arrived separately over the weekend and met up at a gym club on Sunday before dining out privately at a favorite restaurant, Ferdi, near the Tuileries Gardens.
The next day, they were up bright and early with clearly dedicated agendas. Among the details to be worked out for the big occasion:
• Something Old
How about a 17th century-style chateau just 20 minutes west of Paris? On her hour-long visit there, Kim, dressed in a black embroidered silk gown with a wide gold belt, inspected the setting. Given its location in a national forest, the chateau should provide enough room and privacy for the anticipated 150 guests.
According to one observer, Kim “smiled and shook hands for a long time when she was leaving. She seemed very pleased.”
• Something New
With that ticklish question of a wedding dress still to be answered, Kim returned to Paris and quickly changed outfits before catching up with her fiancé, who had spent part of his morning being custom-fitted for a suit at Cifonelli, near the Champs-élysées.
One of Paris’s most exclusive men’s clothiers on Rue Marbeuf, the design house is known for exquisite men’s suits and handcrafted Italian styling.
• Something Borrowed
There’s hardly a designer in Paris who wouldn’t want to loan Kim a dress for her wedding day, and taking advantage of the warm spring day, the couple visited three fashion houses.
They were: Balmain, the venerated fashion house run by Kim’s pal, designer Olivier Rousteing (an hour was spent here); Givenchy and designer Riccardo Tisci (Kim’s destination); and the Rue Saint-Honoré headquarters of Lanvin.
Their time apart didn’t last very long. Finishing with Givenchy, Kim rushed across central Paris, where she was met at Lanvin by Kanye and house designer Alber Elbaz.
With one more errand to check off their list: the couple returned to Balmain, where at the boutique they picked up several packages before heading to the airport.
Finally . . .
• Something Blue
Well, you need at least one thing left to do for your wedding day, n’est-ce pas?
