You don't need to be awake for an adorable Santa photo

Santa doesn’t leave every kid in an excited frenzy.

In fact, Zeke Walters from Evansville, lndiana, was so unenthused by the prospect of meeting St. Nick – or at least, was tired enough – that he fell asleep while waiting in line.

To avoid ruining the picturesque holiday experience by the screams of a just-woken up 6-month-old, Santa told Zeke’s dad, Donnie Walters, to let his son keep sleeping.

The result? The cutest-ever holiday photos, featuring a (pretend) slumbering Santa with a still-sleeping Zeke in his arms nestled in a big green armchair in front of a Christmas tree.

“The outcome was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” Donnie said on Facebook.

After snapping a few photos of the adorable pair, Donnie shared them on Facebook on Thursday.

“It means so much to us for so many people to love his photos as much as we do,” Donnie told PEOPLE.

As of Monday, the photos have been shared over 200,000 times and have garnered nearly 380,000 likes and 23,000 comments.

“Everyone has been very kind. Most comments referred to how much the picture has brighten their day,” Donnie told USA Today.

The chances of Zeke sleeping through Christmas morning, however? Doubtful.
