While Kesha‘s legal battle with producer Dr. Luke continues, she’s taking some time to focus on what she does best: music.

The “Die Young” singer, 29, gave a surprise performance at the Coachella music festival this weekend, when she took the stage Saturday with Zedd to sing on the EDM star’s song “True Colors.”

It marked Kesha’s first public musical performance in months.

It’s been a rough few months for the singer. She first filed suit against Luke, 42, in October 2014, alleging that he had drugged, raped her and verbally and emotionally abused her – accusations he has adamantly denied, and for which he has never been charged. The majority of Kesha’s claims were dismissed in New York court earlier this month, but the lawsuit to end her recording contract with the producer will continue.

Zedd was among the many music industry figures to express public support of Kesha during her lawsuit.

In February, following a denial of her request for a preliminary injunction to put her contracts on hold, he tweeted to the singer.

“Very very sorry to hear about the whole situation,” he wrote. “I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”

Kesha is next slated to perform at Dylan Fest, in Nashville, Tennessee, in May.
