Kendra Wilkinson: Long-Distance Marriage Is a 'Blessing in Disguise'
The reality star says it feels like she and husband Hank Baskett are dating again
Don’t feel bad for Kendra Wilkinson because her husband, Hank Baskett, is always on the road playing football. Ironically, she says, it’s been a great way to reconnect.
“It’s awesome. It’s not a bad thing. It’s actually a great thing,” Wilkinson, 25, told PEOPLE at the “Save Kendra” Halloween party on Saturday at the LAX nightclub in Las Vegas. “It’s a way to step away from everything and actually get a chance to [get to] know each other again.”
In that sense, she says, it’s a “blessing in disguise.”
If anything, it feels like they’re back in the dating phase – a return to the days when they first met and Baskett was often on the road for work. “We’re back to that,” the star of Kendra on E! says. “We’re back to communicating without the physical part.”
Despite the distance, the couple’s focus remains the same: their 10-month-old son, Hank IV, who was a giraffe for Halloween – an outfit that Baskett picked out.
“He’s the centerpiece of our lives. He’s the gravity of our family,” Wilkinson says. He’s “what brings us all together. He’s already starting to share. He’s such a thoughtful little boy. He has such a huge heart.”
