Keith Urban has two secret weapons when it comes to handling overeager female fans at his shows – his guitar and his speediness.

Asked by Canada’s The London Free Press whether he’s ever been fondled by fans during his concerts, Urban – who performs amid the audience during part of his show – says, “Nothing like that. That’s the good thing about having a guitar in front of you.” Plus, he adds, “we’re moving at a pretty good clip.”

Still, the country star admits, “It can get a little hairy sometimes. I’ve had a few injuries, but hey, it’s rock ‘n’ roll.”

While on the Canadian leg of his Escape Together tour, wife Nicole Kidman might just have Urban’s back. “They’ve been out a couple of times,” he told the paper of Kidman and their 1-year-old daughter Sunday Rose.

In fact, he says, you might just catch him and Kidman cruising the Canadian highways on his BMW motorcycle in their downtime. “It’s just a great way to get out and clear my head,” he said. “My wife joins me. We both get on the bike. She’s right behind me hanging on.”

Asked how the family celebrated Sunday Rose’s first birthday over the summer, Urban quipped with a laugh, “Probably your basic 1-year-old’s birthday – funny little party hats, lots of cake and incessant crying.” But, he quickly added, “I still can’t believe I’m a dad. It’s an amazing feeling.”
