Keith Urban: Family Is My Priority
From music to marriage, PEOPLE Country's hottest guy talks about balancing life with Nicole Kidman and their girls
Country music heartthrob Keith Urban has sold 10 million albums – but at home in Nashville with wife Nicole Kidman and daughters Sunday Rose, 2, and Faith Margaret, 3 months, life’s all about date nights and diaper duty (respectively).
“We just have a normal life, we do normal things,” Urban, 43, says in the new issue of PEOPLE Country. “Family is definitely a priority for us.”
With his sexy swagger and love for his girls, Urban was a shoo-in for this year’s Hottest Guy. Raised in Australia, the singer recalls his first kiss was at age 5 in the first grade.
“I think it was just on the monkey bars. I don’t remember if she kissed me or I kissed her,” he says. “I just sort of went, ‘Oh, well, that makes sense. That feels very natural.’ ”
To stay in shape for his upcoming Get Closer tour, Urban works out four times a week with a trainer and tries to eat “good, clean, quality” food, like protein and vegetables – but confesses to indulging sometimes.
“It’s not rocket science, right? I don’t deny myself anything; it’s calories in, calories burned,” he says. “But I will devour an In-N-Out or Steak ‘n Shake burger every now and then. Love it.”
