Katy Perry has an electric stage presence, and now she’s making sure her assistants are going electric as well.

The newly single “Dark Horse” singer recently gifted her five assistants with Fisker Karma electric cars, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

The luxury four-door sedans can cost more than $100,000 each, according to Kelley Blue Book, and while the source admits they are rather small, the pop star reportedly made the purchase in order to lower her team’s carbon footprint.?

“They are completely electric and top of the range in car luxury. She hates the smog in the air in L.A.,” a Perry pal reportedly told U.K.’s Daily Star. “In total she spent over half a million dollars on the cars and now her conscience is clean.”

Not only a fan of clean air, Perry, 29, also supports Project Clean Water, according to Look to the Stars, a website that tracks celebrity giving. Project Clean Water was founded by singer and actress Jewel, and works to provide clean water globally to those in need.
