While neither Mara, 32, nor Bell, 29, have publicly commented on their relationship, the pair have been showing plenty of PDA over the past few months, including holding hands at a Met Gala afterparty in New York City back in May and posing for a cuddly photo with friends in Malibu earlier this week. The two actors certainly looked like a couple on Thursday as they walked Mara’s Boston terrier on the beach. The former House of Cards actress showed off her abs in a belly-baring red top and matching skirt while Bell wore black swim trunks. “They 100% looked like they were a couple,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “They had their arms around one another the whole time and they looked totally in love. “They were holding each other the whole time,” the onlooker continued. “They didn’t let go. They were hugging and walking with their arms around each other and were totally focused on one another. They were walking the dog, but even when the dog was running off they were still focused on each other.” Related Video: Fantastic Four Premieres in New York City Fantastic Four‘s screenwriter, Simon Kinberg, previously told PEOPLE linked the cast’s chemistry with that of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. “I think it’s hard to fake chemistry,” Kinberg said. “It goes back for me to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which is the first film I ever worked on and it was like these two people are meeting for the first time and if you connect with somebody, you connect with them.”
