Kanye West Remains Protective of Kim Kardashian: 'He Isn't Rushing Her Back out into the Public Eye,' Says Source

A little more than a month has passed since Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris

Kim Kardashian West is still recovering from her traumatic Paris robbery at gunpoint, and her husband Kanye West remains a steady source of support.

A source tells PEOPLE Kardashian West, 36, continues to focus on “getting past what happened” after having millions of dollars worth of jewelry stolen from her by masked men at the No Address Hotel on Oct. 3.

The insider also says the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who has maintained an extremely low profile since the incident, “has enjoyed the much-needed hiatus from her usual whirlwind pace.”

“She’s been spending so much more time with the kids, taking them to school and classes,” says the source of the star and the two children she shares with West, 39: daughter North, 3, and son Saint, 11 months.

“She’s definitely working behind the scenes — just less,” adds the source. “It’s more like she’s trying to use this time to get her ducks in order and prioritize her life.”

In the meantime, the source says things appear to be smooth between the reality star and her rapper husband, including rare public appearances of late in recent weeks when she’s stepped out to enjoy a low-key night at one of his concerts.

“They seem hunky-dory,” says the source. “And Kanye isn’t rushing her back out into the public eye.”

Keeping Up with the Kardashians airs Sundays (9 p.m. ET) on E!
