Kanye West Announces New Video Game Inspired By His Late Mother Donda Going to Heaven
"You've got to bring her to the highest gate of heaven by holding her to the light," West explained the game.
Kanye West is getting into the video game industry.
During his Tidal livestream event on Thursday, not only did the rapper unveil his new album, The Life of Pablo and his latest fashion collection, Yeezy Season 3, West, 38, also announced his newest venture, Only One: The Game.
Inspired by his late mother Donda West, the 21-time Grammy winner previewed the video game concept with a teaser video which showed a woman riding a pegasus into the gates of heaven.
West, 58, died in November 2008 due to heart disease while suffering multiple post-operative factors, one day after undergoing plastic surgery.
“The idea is that it’s my mother going through the gates of heaven,” West said in a radio interview in February 2015. “You’ve got to bring her to the highest gate of heaven by holding her to the light.”
The Adidas designer was spotted backtstage wearing a T-shirt with a photo of his late mother on the front shortly following the video game announcement.
His wife Kim Kardashian West already has a successful video game app, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, but West revealed he was taken seriously by tech companies in San Francisco when he approached them in late 2014.
“I go down to San Fran They diss the f— outta me. That s— was hard to do man. You don’t understand man,” he told the packed Madison Square Garden arena during his Tidal livestream.
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that b—- famous,” West raps on track four called “Famous.”
