Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears ruled the hearts of everyone who came of age in the early ’00s, and the mere mention of their breakup will still bring a single tear to the eyes of millennials across the globe. Although Brit-Brit and JT’s denim-clad romantic union is no more, there may be musical one on the horizon. Rejoice!

Spears recently named her old flame as a dream collaborator as part of a fan Q&A on Most Requested Live with Romeo. “Justin Timberlake is very good,” the singer said of her famous ex-beau. The couple dated for three years between 1999 and 2002.

Well it turns out that Timberlake is very much down to make music together. “Sure! Absolutely, absolutely,” he told E! News. The 35-year-old father of little Silas Randall admitted to being unaware that he had made Spears’ short list.

“I have a 17 month old so I don’t get the headline news,” he said. “I apologize for not being in the know … I’m accessible, give us a call!”

Although it doesn’t seem like any plans are set in stone, Timberlake’s former ‘NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass spoke to PEOPLE about what a collaboration of that caliber would mean in the digital age.

“It would completely break the Internet,” Bass says. “I would love to see that happen and have a feeling it will happen.”
