Justin Guarini: From 'Idol' to Altar

The season one runner-up is getting married this weekend to a woman he's known since high school

Justin Guarini, one of the original American Idol stars as the runner-up to Kelly Clarkson in the first season, is getting married this weekend.

The 30-year-old singer will wed Reina Capodici, 27, of Doylestown, Penn., who went to high school with Guarini. He’ll become stepfather to her 4-year-old daughter Lola.

Although they’ve known each other since they were teens, they only started dating a few years ago and made marriage plans last December. They will have an intimate family wedding on a private estate along the Delaware River, near their families’ Pennsylvania homes.

As a female minister from the Universal Church presides, the couple will recite vows they’ve written themselves. And instead of traditional wedding music, the ceremony will feature special arrangements by the Vitamin String Quartet from such artists as Radiohead, Paramore and Peter Gabriel.

Guarini, who also starred with Clarkson in the movie From Justin to Kelly, covered the Emmy Awards last weekend for the TV Guide Channel. He also hosts the channel’s Idol Tonight show and plans to return to the studio to record his third CD.
