Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a unique way of honoring his brother, Dan, who died just over four years ago.

Gordon-Levitt, 33, was seen wearing a pair of his brother’s socks – one purple sock and one yellow with a red and white design – while filming a scene for an upcoming movie at a park in Sherman Oaks, California, on Thursday.

During a Reddit Ask Me Anything with Gordon-Levitt back in September 2013, a fan included a photo of him sporting two different socks and asked, “Why do you wear mismatching socks so often? Sorry if it’s a creepy question bro, but … I gotta know.”

He replied by saying, “My brother always wore mismatched socks. I inherited his collection.”

The actor also pays tribute to his older sibling by wearing a red circle on his shirt to signify the production company that they started together, hitRECord.
