Before gearing up for the kick off of their tour Monday, the Jonas Brothers took a little time out to visit Yankee Stadium and meet some of their favorite major league players over the weekend.

“We’re freaking out!” gushed Joe Jonas to Buzznet.com. “We’re like, inches away from Derek Jeter.” Diehard baseball fans for their “whole life,” says Joe, they also shook hands with infielder favorite Robinson Cano.

Oh how the perks of their gig just keep on getting better! With their album climbing the charts, Joe says the “feel good” record is just about being, “really positive and up beat because we’ve gone through a great year. Everything has gone right for us.”

Up next for the guys? In addition to their 14-city tour, the brothers plan to perform at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sept. 7. Though Kevin insists they can’t say which song they’ll be singing at the VMAs, he assures “it will be our next single.” And if they don’t win video of the year, Kevin says they’d be happy to loose to either Chris Brown or Britney Spears. “Britney, she seems to be having a really great comeback,” he adds.

If all this wasn’t enough, the guys plan to round out the year shooting their new show. “At first it was about spies,” says Joe. “But now it’s been more constructed. It’s just going to be called Jonas and is going to be us dealing with trying to take out the trash and not get hounded by fans. It’s going to be a funny show.”
