Angelina Jolie obviously believes there’s safety in numbers.

“I went for about two years with absolutely no man around me and then decided to get closer to men who were already very close friends of mine,” the Oscar winner candidly admits to the New York Post.

The paper then goes on to say that Jolie, the adoptive mother of a 2-year-old Cambodian orphan, stops in every night to see her various lovers before heading home to tuck in baby Maddox under the covers.

“As crazy as that sounds, meeting a man in a hotel room for a few hours and then going back and putting my son to bed and not seeing that man again for a few months is about what I can handle now,” says the twice-divorced Jolie, 28, whose whirlwind courtship, marriage and 2003 divorce from Billy Bob Thornton made headlines worldwide.

“It’s kind of an adult way of having adult relationships,” Jolie says, being quick to add: “I’ve never had a one-night stand in my life — these are people that I know very well.”

And while the actress, who is busily promoting her new thriller “Taking Lives,” declined to identify any of her lovers by name, the Post does refer to Jolie and her first husband, “Trainspotting” actor Jonny Lee Miller, as firm friends.

Finally, as for the pressures of motherhood, Jolie is hoping to add on even more. “I have this dream of mixing cultures and religions,” she says. “I’d love to have a bunch of kids that we celebrate different religions for each one and different holidays and they all look different and are all from different backgrounds and can share cultures.”
