VIDEO: Friends of Jim Carrey's Late Girlfriend Cathriona White Pays Glowing Tribute to Her 'Beautiful Soul' on Instagram

Cathriona White’s friends and family were left heartbroken when they learned of her apparent suicide on Monday night, and those closest to the Irish-born makeup artist have begun to honor White’s memory on social media.

One friend took to Instagram to share a video of the “beautiful soul that Cat is.” In the short clip, White is seen making silly faces at the camera as her friend Angela dances to music in the background. The two met and became friends in Los Angeles.

“It took me all day to finally say something about the beautiful soul that Cat is. This video shows her fun personality and what a joy she was to have in company. She is someone who was always there for her friends, kind, giving, thoughtful, talented and one of the best human beings you will ever come across,” the friend captioned the video.

She continued: “I’m so devastated to lose an angel in my life. I love you Cat and I will always cherish our moments. Thank you to everyone who reached out for your kind words. I truly appreciate it and hope you all keep her beautiful spirit in your memories.”

Another friend recalled the last conversation she had with White, explaining that their last text exchanged proved why she “valued her friendship so much.”

“The last text I got from Cat read ‘Hey babe, checking on you, if you need me I’m here for you and I love you’ well, that was on Sept 22nd, and now today she’s gone. She was in pain herself, but checking on me to see what I needed. That really sums up who she was,” she wrote.

Posting two pictures of White cropped into the shape of hearts, one friend simply wrote, “Tipperary princess, I love you and miss your illuminating soul.”

If there is one thing that is clear from the countless social media tributes, it’s that her friends will miss her kind spirit more than anything.

“Have you ever met someone who instantly makes you happier just with their presence? That person whose positive energy is so powerful that they light up the entire room,” wrote another friend. “Cat, you were a diamond in the rough and a shining light to everyone who came across you.”

White was “pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m. last [Monday] night at a residence,” Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter tells PEOPLE.

Although White’s official cause of death cannot be determined until an autopsy is conducted, there were indications of a suicide. Not only were pills located near her body, but there was also a suicide note found – and the note contained on-and-off boyfriend Jim Carrey‘s name, PEOPLE has learned.

Though Winter said he did not personally see the note, he confirmed to PEOPLE that the Los Angeles Police Department told him Carrey’s name was in the letter.

“The LAPD evidently said [it contained Carrey’s name],” Winter tells PEOPLE.

Further details of the note, including who it was addressed to, remain unknown.

White reportedly first met Carrey on a movie set in 2012 and they dated for most of 2013 before reuniting earlier this year.
