Jim Carrey shared a final fond remembrance for his “delicate Irish flower,” Cathriona White, the same day her body was laid to rest in Ireland.

“Love cannot be lost,” the actor tweeted Saturday along with a flower emoji and an image of him with White, their bodies silhouetted by the sky.

Carrey, 53, helped carry her casket at the funeral, in Cappawhite, Ireland. He “seemed terribly upset” during the service, a close family friend who attended told PEOPLE.

“It was nice that he carried her coffin,” the source said. “Cathriona’s sisters and family seemed very glad to have him there.”

Carrey and White, 30, had been previously romantically linked, though she was technically married at the time of her death.

She was found in her L.A. home on Sept. 28, following an apparent suicide.

Near her body were prescription pill bottles and multiple suicide notes – including one addressed to Carrey – according to the coroner’s report.

“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled,” Carrey said following her death in a statement to PEOPLE. “My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her.”
