The actor, 53, arrived in Dublin on a private jet early Friday morning, PEOPLE has confirmed.
His arrival comes just prior to White’s wake Friday evening at her grandfather’s funeral home in her hometown of Cappawhite, located in Tipperary. Her funeral will take place Saturday at her hometown parish church, and a source close to the family told PEOPLE White will “be buried with her beloved dad, Pat, in the local cemetery.”
The cemetery is located about 300 yards from the church where her Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday, and mourners are expected to walk the coffin through the village prior to her interment, PEOPLE has confirmed.
Earlier this week, some of White’s closest friends held a memorial service for the late makeup artist at a ranch in California.
White, 30, was found dead of an apparent suicide inside her L.A. home on Sept. 28, just two days after the third anniversary of her father’s death. Pills and multiple suicide notes – including one addressed to Carrey – were found near her body.
Carrey has been aiding White’s family since her death, including providing assistance to her stepmother and sister who flew to L.A. to help make arrangements to bring White home to her native Ireland.
“Jim is doing everything he can to help,” a source told PEOPLE last week. “He is devastated, but can’t imagine how her family must feel.”
The day after her death, Carrey also released a statement saying he is “deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.”
“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled,” Carrey added. “My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her.”
