Jesse Tyler Ferguson 'Can't Believe There's a Ring on My Finger!'

The Modern Family star gushes that marriage to lawyer Justin Mikita is "great"

Jesse Tyler Ferguson is officially basking in the newlywed glow – with a little help from his brand-new wedding ring.

“I keep looking down at my hand and I can t believe there s a wedding ring on my finger,” he told PEOPLE at the 2013 Do Something Awards in Hollywood Wednesday.

The Modern Family star, 37, who plays uptight lawyer Mitchell Pritchett on the Emmy-winning show, wed real-life attorney Justin Mikita, 27, in New York on July 20. Playwright and screenwriter Tony Kushner officiated as famous friends including Julie Bowen and Cat Deeley looked on.

Although it’s early, Ferguson has already formed an opinion about his newly married status.

“It s been great,” he declared. “It’s only been 11 days. It’s been great. It already felt like we were married, so it just feels official and legal now.”

The couple has been together for three years and became engaged last year while vacationing in Mexico.
