The actress ditched the red carpet to comfort a fan she saw crying at the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
Jennifer Lawrence was at the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Monday night, strolling the red carpet and being generally glamorous and amazing, when she noticed a fan crying behind a security barrier. So she did a very un-Hollywood thing: She bailed on the carpet and went to talk to the girl.
Lawrence knelt down to the girl’s wheelchair and thanked her for coming to the premiere, before asking if she was excited for the movie. The girl quickly stopped crying, as most people would when confronted with Lawrence, the living embodiment of beneficence and magnanimity.
Lawrence took a few photos with her new friend, and then got back to whatever it was she was supposed to be doing, which obviously was not as important as making this little girl’s entire life.
