Jennifer Garner Returns to L.A. with Ring Off – as She Faces Difficult Next Steps with Ben Affleck

The whole family is back in town.

Jennifer Garner has returned home to Los Angeles after spending the summer filming Miracles from Heaven in Atlanta.

Garner was seen Friday morning talking to one of the family’s nannies. The actress, who was not wearing her wedding ring, looked casual as she was dressed in a gray T-shirt and army-green pants, her hair pulled back.

Estranged husband Ben Affleck has been back in L.A. since early last week, taking their three children, Violet 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, on weekend outings. He even took his two daughters to see Taylor Swift in concert, and they got to meet the singer backstage.

The actor has also been spotted without his wedding ring in the last few days.

Garner finished working just in time to spend the last few weeks of summer with her family, as the children will start school in September.

Her return also means difficult decisions will likely be made regarding the family’s current living arrangements. For the moment, Garner is staying at the family home, which is under renovation, while estranged husband Ben Affleck lives in a rental just down the street.

Affleck and Garner, both 43, originally planned to continue living on the same property, but after a difficult summer and with their home still under renovation, Garner began to question what the future will look like.

“Jen will always make sure that Ben spends as much time with the kids as he wants, but she is rethinking their living situation,” a source close to the family told PEOPLE.

Prior to her return, Garner was “being smart and not putting too much pressure on herself,” a source close to Garner said, adding that the actress plans to “take things day by day.”
