The morning after they pulled off the celebration, the newlyweds boarded a Gulfstream V private jet to the luxurious Four Seasons resort in Bora Bora in French Polynesia, where they had also gone a year ago for Theroux’s birthday and their engagement anniversary.
“It’s funny how they planned their whole wedding around their honeymoon,” an Aniston source tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story. “They had the destination picked out before the wedding details.”
Their Aug. 5 wedding date gave the couple almost two weeks to bask in the sun – and hang with some famous pals, including Jason Bateman, Jimmy Kimmel and their families. Aniston, 46, and Theroux, who turns 44 today, “were giddy to have pulled off an amazing wedding celebration with their friends,” says a source. “They want the celebration to last as long as possible.”
The priciest villas at the Four Seasons resort cost up to $12,000 a night, and breakfast is delivered every morning to the over-water suites by canoe. “It’s such a romantic place,” Beverly Hills travel agent Robin Van Zak tells PEOPLE. “The sunsets are incredible.”
When the couple return, Aniston will begin promoting her new comedy She’s Funny That Way, out Aug. 21, and shooting the Garry Marshall ensemble Mother’s Day in Atlanta around the end of the month. But for now, the wedding festivities continue. As their honeymoon began, “they were greeted with champagne,” says an observer. “They didn’t stop smiling.”
