Adele‘s lovelorn (Grammy-winning) anthem “Someone Like You” has undoubtedly provided the soundtrack to countless breakups and heartache – and Peter Facinelli is apparently no exception.

After news broke of his divorce from wife Jennie Garth last week, Facinelli, 38, took to Twitter Thursday night to express himself by quoting the song, writing: “Sometimes it lasts in love and sometimes it hurts instead- Adele.”

Was he drawing on his personal experience – or just quoting a much-beloved pop song?

Last week, the Twilight star was seen cruising around Los Angeles without his wedding ring, and Garth, 39, also recently stepped out without hers.

The couple, who have three daughters, have also denied cheating rumors.

But Facinelli can rest assured that he isn’t the only celeb who turned to Adele in trying times. Rihanna recently said that she had to stop listening to 21, the album on which “Someone Like You” appears, “because it was depressing me so much.”
