Peter Facinelli: Jennie Garth Will 'Always Be in My Life'

The actor says they are focused on being "great parents" during their divorce

Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth may be going through a divorce, but according to Facinelli, the split is not a nasty one.

“Jen and I are doing really well,” Facinelli told Kelly Ripa on Wednesday’s Live! With Kelly, where he was a guest co-host. “She’ll always be in my life.”

The Twilight star, 38, said their main priority right now is their three daughters – Luca, 14, Lola, 9 and Fiona, 5.

“We’re very dedicated to being great parents,” he told Ripa.

Facinelli noted that he and Garth have tried to keep out of the spotlight recently for the sake of their kids – though they were recently photographed toy shopping with their two younger daughters.

“It’s very painful to break up with somebody,” he said. “It’s even more painful when it’s played out in the media.”

But the actor is also maintaining a mild sense of humor about the situation. He recalled donning a blonde wig and joining Ripa for a "Girls’ Night Out" segment for the show back in February.

“I woke up two weeks later in Mexico, and then I got a divorce,” Facinelli quipped.

“That’s when it all went wrong, I think,” Ripa jokingly agreed.
