On Friday night Jay Z showed off his support of the Chicago Bulls – and his arms – when he headed to Diddy‘s Bad Boy concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday night.

The rapper made an appearance during the concert, where he performed “Can’t Knock This Hustle” alongside legend Mary J. Blige.

It was what has become a rare solo appearance for the hip-hop star and business mogul, 46, in the weeks since the release of wife Beyoncé sixth album, Lemonade.

The seemingly autobiographical nature of her latest set of songs stirred up intense speculation about the couple’s relationship … which they soon put to rest following a series of warm, couple-y public outings, including romantic dinners in New York and Miami.

“They definitely went through a rough patch a couple years ago, but they came out stronger in the end,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE in April.

Though Lemonade shouldn’t necessarily be taken so personally: Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson, said in an interview earlier this month the album “could be about anyone’s marriage.”

“I think that everybody at one time or another has been betrayed and lied to and it’s about the pain and it’s about the healing process and it’s about how do you get past that and move on,” Knowles-Lawson said.
