When it comes to what he likes best about fatherhood, new dad Jason Priestley has a hard time narrowing it down.

“Everything is the best part of it. Are you kidding me? It’s fantastic,” Priestley, 38, told PEOPLE over the weekend at the Dream Halloween Los Angeles charity event.

The former 90210 actor welcomed a baby girl, Ava, with wife Naomi Lowde in July.

On Saturday, they enjoyed a classic parenting ritual – dressing up baby for her first Halloween. For Ava, Lowde picked out a pink-and-black cheetah costume. “There she is. All dressed up,” Priestley said.

Priestley, who has already been battling sleep deprivation with the new addition to the family, now has to deal with a busy travel schedule, as well – he’s currently directing a movie in Calgary and only gets back to L.A. and the family on weekends. But that hardly dampens his enthusiasm for parenting.

“Everything is perfect,” he says. “It’s fantastic. It’s the greatest thing ever.”

Something that’s apparently not as great? Priestley’s high-stepping.

Asked if he would ever consider following in the rhythmic footsteps of other 90210 alums and appear on Dancing With the Stars, he replied, “Me? You’ve clearly never seen me dance.”
