That’s the question her loyal fans have been asking on Twitter recently, both because the singer hasn’t made a public appearance since February, when she was spotted shopping in Milan, – and because they’re feeling her absence from the pop culture scene. Last week, a fan began circulating a mock “missing” flyer of the singer on Twitter. The flyer describes her as “last seen looking like she hopped right out of 1997 into 2015. Maybe she’s a time traveler?” It also urges fans to keep an eye out for “the mysterious lady in black.” The meme, which has been retweeted more than 200 times, also urges her to return to music. “Seriously Janet, where the hell are you? We NEED you back. We miss you. Your fans miss you. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY NEEDS YOU,” it reads. “Come back and show these young whippersnappers how it’s done!” Jackson, 48, whose last album was released in 2008, responded to the meme on Friday, calling it “too funny, too sweet.” It was her first Tweet of 2015. Her second Tweet of the year simply read, “Letting go doesn’t mean you stop.” Fans have been left to wonder what that could mean, but some hope it’s an indication she may record a new album. Jackson’s most recent statement about a new record, however, came in a 2014 Tweet stating simply, “If there is a new project, you’ll hear it from my lips.” Janet Jackson: Her Changing Looks
