One of Jamie Foxx‘s jokes didn’t get the laughs he was probably hoping for when he hosted the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The Annie star made a joke about Bruce Jenner’s transition during his opening monologue.

Following quips about Robin Thicke and Pharrell’s “Blurred Lines” case and Suge Knight’s ongoing health and legal battles, Foxx joked that Jenner would be performing during the award show.

“He’s going to be doing a his-and-her duet all by himself,” he said.

The audience, which included Ryan Seacrest, Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake, responded with a mixture of groans and muffled laughter.

Foxx, 47, was fresh off a trip to another award show – the Kids’ Choice Awards in Inglewood, California, on Saturday. The star attended the bash with his younger children, and even brought them onstage to present an award alongside Disney star Zendaya.

Jenner has yet to publicly comment on the news that he is transitioning from male to female.

A source previously told PEOPLE how the Olympian decided to open up about being transgender.

“He had enough of trying to fool himself and others,” a source said. “Once he realized he was done taking a backseat in his own life, he knew it was time to be honest with himself.”
